Iowa Economic Development Authority Awards Nevada Company Expansion Project

Nevada, IA – The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) approved funding to Nevada-based company, Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication, on August 21, 2020.

Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication was founded in 2011 as a metal fabrication company in the agri-business and custom metal fabrication markets. Primarily focused in producing grain handling equipment, the company applied for funding to expand their facility. The IEDA awarded the project tax benefits through the HQJ program, a nearly $3.2 million in capital investments.

“We are very excited for this expansion to take place,” says John Hall, Executive Director of the NEDC. “Through Mid-States’ growth and expansion, they are creating jobs, simplifying production and accommodating more needs. The Nevada Economic Development Council is proud to support this project Mid-States’ second since 2018.”

The project is expected to expand the current Mid-States Material Handing and Fabrication facility by 40,000 square feet, create nine jobs at competitive wages, and acquire state-of-the-art fabrication equipment.
